We’ve got just the French carp fishing holiday for you. Here are five lakes that are guaranteed to leave you awestruck at their beauty and anticipating a very large carp!
Long and thin in shape, encompassing around 29 acres (not exactly small at all then!), Brocard Small holds a good stock of incredible looking carp to well over 50lb & catfish to 110lb. Four swims (all doubles) are spread along the length of the water, meaning you certainly won’t feel hemmed in.
Four hours drive from the port of Calais, in the Champagne region of France.
“This is a truly beautiful lake, the crescent shape of the lake puts the other pegs well out of sight. With a forest behind you and a tree lined far margin ahead you really get feeling you have the lake to yourselves. As a drive and survive venue it has everything you need.”
Stan Feerick, September 2017

2. Etang du Furet
Quality French carp fishing in central France, Etang du Furet is a four and a half hour drive from the port of Caen. The lake has been around since the 15th century and has a very mature, authentic feel. At 19 acres it provides ample room for up to 10 anglers.
The lake boasts many carp between forty pounds to high sixties and definitely has the potential to send you home with aching arms and a very large smile on your face.
“Furet is a terrific lake. It holds a stock of fish that will rival most lakes its size in France. To have two 50’s in one week, along with a string of high 30’s and 20’s was a demonstration of a quite exceptional week’s angling by Matt.” Mike Linstead, May 2017

A new lake to Angling Lines, Salles is reed lined and truly beautiful, spanning 42 acres.
The 6 double swims are well spaced out around the venue and offer plenty of water for a maximum of 10 anglers (or 12 if booked exclusively). Thankfully the facilities are a little less wild and natural with even gravelled swims, a modern sanitary block and cooked meals available on site.
This is a fantastic opportunity to fish an unpressured and authentic French lake with pristine carp to over 50lb. Four hours from port of Calais.

A 60lb carp, 100lb sturgeon or perhaps even a 170lb catfish. If this sounds appealing then Vaumigny is for you.
It’s not a runs water and this lake is not for the faint hearted or inexperienced. Anglers who favour wild and natural lakes will find themselves right at home. The current lake record carp is 66lb and the lake is a two hour forty drive from the port of Caen.
“Frank the bailiff made our week, he wouldn’t come near us unless we asked for him and his experience and knowledge of the lake was immense. All in all we couldn’t of asked for a better week away.” Guy Hamilton, June 2017
