Watersmeet saw new ownership this year and since closing for the season in September they have wasted no time in making improvements. This little venue has always been a firm favourite for many of our regulars looking for the full package and is set to be even more impressive for the 2017 season. Here’s owner Sue with an update…
At Watersmeet we are pleased to announce that work has been carried out to complete three new and improved swims.
The first stage, ripping and digging out the old swims. Stage two, making a safer, larger base, filled with several tonnes of stone. The new firm stone base takes away any of the past problems of rotten wood. The steps too have been improved and widened, with a hand rail. Stage three will be the finishing touches to the edge of the swim and the top layer of smaller stones, which will be placed just before the beginning of the season, making it ready for the first arrivals.
All swims will be able to take either a rod pod or bank stick. There will also be the addition of extra large unhooking mats/weigh slings/landing net and a bucket at each swim – using these will be compulsory at the lake to keep the excellent reputation that has been built at Watersmeet, well cared for fish that will be improving each year. We hope our guests will respect this rule as it is very important to us. You will also save some space in your car!
