Here’s a mid-season update from the owners at Watersmeet, a venue with excellent accommodation on the banks of a private carp lake.
We, the owners, have just come back from a week at Watersmeet. we had a fabulous time relaxing with plenty of BBQs going on in the evening sunshine.
Not a lot of time to fish but you can see there were a couple of beauties that came out. These two awesome fish have not been seen for some time! The fish on the main lake were generally not feeding due to high temperatures, which were well into 30+ degrees. It was too hot to fish much in the day.
My daughter tried her hand at fishing on the small lake. An entertaining afternoon was had in competitive sport! When the main lake is slow the carp on the small lake always seem to be hungry. It’s definitely worth dipping a rod in to so what catches. Great fun for novices, with a bit of help, as they are not all small carp!
Jobs still had to be done. It was surprising to see how much the trees had overgrown and one small tree had toppled into the water, grass to be cut flower bed to weed and water. All had to be dealt with ready for our next guests.
Watersmeet have just opened a further two weeks for bookings in October this year. Find out more here – Carp Fishing Holidays
