Monet’s House and Garden

Carp fishing Garden Visit

Whilst our friends Oz and Caroline were visiting us at Molyneux we took a day out from the lake and decided to go to see Monets Gardens at Giverny, which is approx. 9-10km from the lake and very easy to find.

It is said that Monet was travelling between Vernon and Gasny when he glanced out of the window and discovered the beautiful little town of Giverny. Monet moved into this beautiful old house in 1883, and lived and painted there until his death in 1926.

He planted a large and beautiful garden, complete with a lake, and streams, and this is where he painted many of his best known works such as the many pictures of water lilies, and bridge over a pond of water lilies.

For anyone wanting a day away from the rods, or for those that visit with a partner, and fancy taking them somewhere nice for the day, I would highly recommend it.
