Update on the swim works at French carp lake Bletiere

Carp fishing at Bletiere in France

It’s still muddy… but I’m getting there!

I must first apologise has it’s been a while since I updated you all, but I’ve been back to UK for my 5 days holiday for the year… it’s a tough life but someone has to do it!

As you can see from the photos the digger is out at Bletiere after some kind help from the farmer next door who pulled it out!

I have now dug all the swims and this week if it dries out enough I will level them, build the steps and then get the chipped bark down.

The mud above the swims will be rotavated and hopefully I’ll be able to fill in the dip that’s there. Then as it all drys out I’ll get the grass seed down so that hopefully by the summer you will not see that any work took place at all!

We have been feeding the carp (as we do every year) with a pellet and seed mix. This last week we stepped up the feeding and the carp are really getting there heads down now. Hopefully all the feed will help us to see the first mid 40’s out this year.

Best wishes, Lesley and John
